Positive battery terminal very close to frame?

It occurs to me as I continue to reassemble this bike ('76) that the battery is located in such a way that its terminals are very close to making contact with the frame. Considering that the battery isn't bolted down, is there any risk of a short there? I was thinking I'd get one of those rubber terminal covers just in case.
1976 GL1000 Sulfur Yellow (bought it dead and got it running. Making it perfect will be my eternal project.)

1) Battery is strappped down with a rubber strap. 2) Positive clamp should have a boot to prevent random contact with tools, etc.

Inside the battery box there are various rubber bumpers that should position the battery safely if it is the proper size.

Mine hasn't got a boot on the positive clamp, which is what concerns me. No matter, should be a pretty easily fixable issue.
Whiskerfish - yup, got the rubber bumpers, and the battery is the right size (it fits just right), but I worry about deflection in a big impact.

Mine didn't come with a boot either. There's a sort of a plastic cover that slips over it that's attached to the battery strap, but that's more about keeping the wires on that corner contained for the sidecover, not preventing the battery terminal from contacting the box. That said, I've never had an issue with a short. Mainly because the battery has no real place to go. I don't think the rubber bumpers (which are more thin round sheets than anything) can compress enough to allow the terminal to ground out.

There's nothing wrong with running a boot there, of course. And mine may be missing, tough to say.

Number #7 and number 13 are the pieces your missing if you don’t have the rubber band strap or the rubber terminal boot.

I'm sure most of us know but it's always a good practice to remove the negative cable first. That way you don't have that shocking experience.

But you may then need a coffee. Doing the positive first can provide enough excitement that coffee is not needed.
