Seems good as far as I can tell, anything bad has been installer error or bad patch. Anyone here have good pr bad to say about it? Thanks.

Was a fan but not anymore. Bout 8-10 years ago I took a gas tank to a rad shop. they cleaned and coated with red kote. Paid a bunch of money. this past year my reserve quit working and I looked inside. the entire coating had failed. Looked like probably a half inch of blackish powder in the bottom of the tank. Luckily i had a really good filter. Not sure what caused it but I will never use it again.

Yikes! That's not awesome....my tank is great on the inside, but a bit flakey around the emblems, thought maybe a extra barrier would be a good idea, maybe not.

That's all I've used, 4 times so far. No issues. My oldest application is 12 years ago and holding up fine.

Interesting...perhaps preparation was different. I guess I would t know until I knock the rust off. I'm prob going to need to weld a new petcock in so maybe just weld/solder any holes I find.

Yea no idea why it failed. Maybe the product used was old or may have been prep or something else

This is what my filter looked like, it was packed in there.

I've had my best luck with just using POR-15 paint. Pour it in, slurry it around.
Impervious to fuel, made to work with rust. Ideal when welding a tank.
They make a tank sealer too, have never used it. I'm guessing it's probably pretty good too.

Another product is Caswell. I've used it a couple times and it worked well. I don't know how long it lasted though as I no longer have either bike.

Red coat vapors are rough.
Make sure to ventilated well.
Only problem I ever had with red coat; it turned my gas red when I didn't let it fully cure before filling the tank.
It eventually cured and offered no other problems.
But
I like por15 better.
