Help needed! Need to identify pre WW2 frame

#1

Post by Wingersparty »

Hi, since here are many motorcycle enthusiasts i will post a pic of a pre war frame i want to identify. I belive its 1930s european 4 stroke motorcycle. I suspect it was 500cc British bike,
The story is that i have a deal with the owner if i help him to identify it there might be a possibility for me to make a deal with him.

Not much to go on from those. Guessing English, early 30s, single cylinder, twin port head. Unique style of primary chaincase with the flat and what looks to be removable clutch cover, plus no bulge to allow a crankshaft shock absorber. Battery carrier which probably eliminates most 20s bikes. Many 30s bikes had the carrier built in and the Lycette saddle was used throught the industry.
I had a trawl though a load of pictures but couldn't come up with anything matching.

Rick Parkington works on and writes about pre-war bikes in the Brit mag "Classic Bikes", and also identifies them from pictures sent in by readers. Email them to Classic.Bike@bauermedia.co.uk
