I'm sorry, but reading the first two lines of that article took me straight to the tire changing scene from "Christmas Story".

"My old man's tires were only tires on the academic sense, they were round and were once made of rubber..."

Just had to share the thought.

Everyone needs to learn how to date a tire. I ordered a tire from one of those big tire supply outfits and they sent me a tire made in 1991! I called them up and told them about it. They said they thought it would still be OK. I said "NO WAY!". They sent me another, new tire. Had a fellow bring me a Wing to work on. It had a new Sears tire on it, made in '93! We changed that one too.
The difficult can be done in a day. The impossible takes a little longer, if you don't know it can't be done.
