The beginning of a 7 week trip through 11 western states with my then girl friend in '86.
Tennis shoes and an insulated plaid shirt, didn't even have rain gear
No credit card either. Imagine that today.

I certainly remember the days before common credit cards, maybe a gas card.... and getting "travelers checks". 86 was about the year of redwoods first big trip. Saint Louis to Buellton CA for the united sidecar rally. Here we are pulling into the driveway of my parents house in Sedona AZ.

When I made my run from CA to OH in 73 I carried cash, kept a small amount in my pocket and the rest wrapped in the tool kit and in the tool kit holder in the frame. Like the plastic better these days.

Re: Old Photos of our Riding Past, Bikes and Road
Well, I started this thread almost 5 years ago we all enjoyed the input. But back in post number one, I mentioned that my ex-wife had many of the photos of my old motorcycles. She recently miraculously returned a few of them. There are still many that are missing. However, here are a couple of those from the past. Sorry for the sideways aspect. Haven’t massage them yet.

Re: Old Photos of our Riding Past, Bikes and Road
Here's a pic of my third bike and first Wing that I bought new. This is at the "Wings in Wisconsin" rally in about 1983. The bike had about 50k on it then.

Re: Old Photos of our Riding Past, Bikes and Road
My hound Cody and I @ 1980-1983 on my 76 750K6. Cody had 35,000 miles with me on the bike in 3 1/2 years. No I didn't ride a wing back then, but am on my 4th wing now.
The loaded up picture in snow is up in Gold Hill CO, when we returned from going to Daytona, with an extended stay in FL warmth until May. It snowed 6" the night we arrived to stay with friends there and waited a week for repairs and snow to melt some. We were just heading up to Breckenridge for the summer work building ski homes when this picture was shot.
