This is a regular occurrence on my old 1978 CB750K as well. My Harley riding buddies are always razzing me about how my bike gets all of the attention while their high dollar late model V-twins are basically overlooked when parked next to mine. Looking forward to the same treatment with my new2me GL1200's! :8)

I've often said here that my '78 get more attention than anything I've ever ridden. And I've had quite a few.

But, here's an amusing anecdote:

Not long after I'd finished the '78, I had it out one fine day and stopped at a light. A middle-aged fellow in a Ferrari convertible pulled up alongside. A young, blonde trophy was with him and was giving him the business about something. He looked over at me miserably and was checking out the bike (and I the car).

Finally, he says, "Wanna trade?"

I thought for a minute and asked, "Does she come with it?"

He said, "Sure!"

I said, "No thanks." And rode off when the light changed.

1985 GL650 Silverwing another mistake, horrible bike
1986 CBX550 Good commuter

Just finished a 2000 Km ride around British Columbia interior with my HD friends. We were in Cranbrook, and stopped at the local HD shop for my friends. A fellow came out of the shop and struck up a conversation about my bike and the GWs he'd had before he went over to HD.

We left and headed for lunch, and at the next stop light, a fellow in a dump truck came up alongside, looked down and started a quick conversation. He wanted to know the year and Kms on it. We had a great quick conversation, and he had a good belly laugh when I told him I also had 2 new HDs in tow. I told him I wanted to get into his lane as we were turning into a restaurant just past the light. He held back for us. People are so appreciative of the older bikes.
