Re: St1100
I know, price wise its the best I'll ever find. Its close to five hours away though and I'm just not up to going through the long distance process to go see and maybe purchase it. I need to ride one first just to see if it really suits me. I sold my 1800 because the weight was beginning to work on me an although lighter the ST isn't that much lighter than the 1800 was. I do miss the smooth torque and acceleration of the more than two piston engine.
That ST in the link is just ugly. Easy to work on though

Re: St1100
nice ST 1100 moto nut, I have a black 99 ST 1100 also but it needs a little work before putting it on the road so the mighty ST 1300 will have to do. the fork seals need replacing and the shock is sacked. if anyone here is looking to get a ST 1100 get a '96 or newer, those have higher output alternators. the seat on the ST 1300 is adjustable for height so make sure it is on one of the three settings that fit you before saying it's too tall

Wow, took this bike out the last couple days and and racked up 270 miles and only used 4.8 gal. of fuel, that's over 56 mpg, of course most miles at 55mph, that killer!

Re: St1100
mileage and range on either the ST 1100 or ST 1300 is great, I've run 285 mile gas stops several times on my ST 1300 and still had about 1/4 left in the tank and now i have the fuel cell too

Re: St1100
The st 1100 and the st1300 are fantastic motorcycles. Quite a bit cheaper than the 1800 goldwing, and

Re: St1100
Picked up this lightly used saddlemen seat with gel for $180 on eBay, what a difference over the stock seat, way more comfy, sits you a hair lower, a bit wider

Stock seats suck no matter which bike. Just my personal experience. Glad you found one you like.

Re: St1100
Well .... I've been thinking about an ST1100 for a long time .... keeping an eye on the local ads .... kijiji caught my eye yesterday with a 'too good to be true' ad for a 2001 ST100 with 25,000 mIles and two owners .... so went to have a look .... bout a 100 miles away .... found this
Every bit as good as it looks .... new tires and new battery this spring .... rode it 10-15 miles on nice back roads .... made an offer .... the nice man accepted my offer (instead of calling the cops) .... I better not tell you what I paid or YOU'LL call the cops ....
Some of you will see her at the 1000 Islands Run

Re: St1100
Looking forward to some ride reports. I have been eyeing them up here. I think they look like a good bike.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.
