Yep you’re right about the cl wheel, no harm no foul, although the wheel design is a bit different, seem to be a little more beefy....

Finished up my 75 750f last night and put the blackcat on the lift, first thing is to take tank, seat, carbs off for inspection, the last owner showed me receipts from two years ago for carb rebuild but I want to go thru them again.....

Clean specimen. Great starting point! Is it a runner?

Yea it runs, but gonna go all the way thru it, have to replace seat cover but the new one I got is so shiny, I hate it, does anyone no how age new vinyl?, I’m just gonna clean and detail, I still want a little patina to show thru and that glowing black seat cover won’t match.....

Nice 450. It is your bike and you can call it a Black Bomber if you want. The K1 is the first of the 5 Speed bikes and is very desirable. The K0 was the only one with an 18" front wheel. Also the K0 engine is very different from the K1 and on. You need to be careful about buying parts. The K0 is very unique and the K1-K7 are more common.
I love to ride my K5, the best I have done is about 230 miles and it kicked my butt. Here is a video I did on that day:
https://youtu.be/NofW1zepmuM

I have the Factory Shop Manual on .pdf. I would be glad to email it to you. My bike is a 1972. It has been overbored .5 mm, PAMCO Ignition, Dyna coils and Hagon shocks. It is a lot of fun.

You should have four emails with the FSM. Let me know if they don't go through. You may want to check out HondaTwins.net. There are a lot of Honda Twin smart people on that site.

Try... Pit Upholstery..on the web.. we have had excellent results with his work. If he doesn't have the cover.. send him your old skin.. he'll make one and send a new one free.
I scored this 68' 450P locally off ebay a few yrs ago. Sat for nearly 20 yrs. The owner always wanted to do the restoration..but..ran out of health.

Love the 60s-70s era bikes! motormike; you gotchu a goodern there! Very rare, and very desirable. I see the whites go across the board couple a year, but they command pretty good amounts! Looks like you got your hands full, according to your signature list of bikes in the stable! You suffer from MBS...Mutiple Bike Syndrome. They have meds for this!

My observation of others, on this forum, they also have a case of MBS.. personality I don't want meds.. cure or treatment. It's a great hobby.. much fun.. and aggravation at times... but the kicker.. are the friends I'v found. :)

Started the process, pulled the carbs and disassembled, the previous owner had recepts of carb rebuilds but I found no evidence of that, interior of carbs are very dirty, the floats are way off, needs new bowl gaskets and needs rejected for Colorado elevation, the only good thing is they have all Honda brass, I just need gaskets and o rings but can’t find just those parts without buying a complete after market kit....

Watch out for the OEM carb gaskets. They do not stand up to modern fuels. 4into1.com sells rebuild kits with Vitron gaskets. You will get the cheap Chinese brass with them. These gaskets have been in my 450 for 2 years now. No issues, the guys on HondaTwins like 4int1. I originally rebuilt the carbs with NOS Honda Gaskets. They lasted about six weeks.
JetsRUs.com sells Kiehin jets. The early 450s came with 145 mains and Honda went to 150 in '73. I would guess your bike should have 145 in it for sea level.

Well I see that Randakk sells a 450 carb kit, you’d think these would be of quality, any word on these?

You are correct. Quality product. No different than the 1000, 1100, 1200 kits.
