Rodger,
I also agree with Al on avoiding fused circuits, and going straight on the battery.
But what model compressor do you have, if its got a gauge? I don't think the Slime 40001 Mini Compressor has one.

I don't have ant info on the brand. Purchased at Harbor Freight. They are available at many other outlets, just find one suitable for vehicle tires.

Some smaller compressors I've been seeing have a nozzle that screws straight on to the valve stem. It looks like it might be difficult, to maybe impossible to apply it to the valve stem on a wheel such as the Comstar on my '78. The Slime 40001 Mini compressor has a right angle, clamp-on nozzle that looks like it would fit better. However the 40001 doesn't have a gauge. Does anyone who uses this particular compressor find it to be a pain, stopping the compressor, removing the nozzle, taking a reading, then having to put it all back together, until you finally get the pressure right? Although I suppose you could overfill the tire, and then bring the pressure down manually to wear you want it.
Never thought of that!! lolol.................. anim-cheers1 ...Dave

To be honest I wouldn't worry about a gauge on the compressor. I have a 240v compressor with a gauge which is great but I still check the pressure manually with an accurate gauge.
Back in the day when I was in the Air Force, we had a piece of kit that we could check our gauges on. I tested two brand new pencil gauges on it, at around 32 psi, one was 2 psi under and the other was about 8psi out!
Just saying.

It is kind of a pain, but it works for me. I do usually over fill it a bit, then make adjustments. It's not like the compressor is super fast, lol...

Why don't you add a shutoff valve to your 120V compressor so it will hold its pressure?
