Solo Seats

#1

Post by tomk1960 »

A showed a friend of mine a couple pics of my '78 GL, which is nearing completion. Seeing it in this present state of assembly must give it a bit of a café look, which must be why he asked if I was going to install a solo seat.

I was planning on using the stock seat, which is in nice shape. But he got me to thinking that maybe something different would be nice. I found this seat eBay and like the look:

I know nothing about the company and have no idea how comfortable the seat is. The price is reasonable - maybe too cheap? I thought I'd ask if anyone here has bought one and put it on their bike. Opinions anyone?

I have had a similar seat for several years .... minimum padding but has been comfortable and has lasted very well ....

If you read their "about" page..they out sourced their manufacturing to Vietnam and they mention the person that sells them on e-bay..which is the seller the op linked to.
FYI...We are not affiliated with any online seller or website. We only supply some products to daytrader-07 who only sell on Ebay.

At least they're designed in the U.S. They have lots of choices too. I can email and ask about the padding used.

Thanks for the info!

A guy I used to know was tall enough that most people looked him straight in the adam's apple. He had a sidecar so he wasn't worried about having room on the back seat so he had Mike Corbin re-do the seat from his GL1200 so that the passenger space was only about 3" long in order to gain a bit of leg room....
