Though I might prefer just a little bit of fender on it.

Somebody educate me on cafe racer building etiquette, are fenders an absolute no-no, or is it just a personal preference thing?

I am thinking it out to make a fender that suits the bike. Not a easy proces without getting bulky

Shortend the frame by 10 cm
removed the steering lock because of the new front fork
fixed up some holes of corrosion
welded a new crossmember in the frame instead of centre stand.. Tt was rotten anyway
welded the exhaust mounting point bushes is the back of the frame
Made the fame higher with a ridge in the lenght of the frame because the hight of the seat

Hi Alexander,

Unfortunately your Goldwing cafe racer was not choosen up tiil now as BOTM to participate BOTY for this year.
I personally believe that you would have had a good chance to end up amongst the best 3 bikes.
Nevertheless, may be there are chances for you for the coming year.
BTW: very interesting posts how you modified your bike!

Best regards, Ruud

Hi Ruud.
In Dutch we say
Misschien is de smaak van de jury nog niet goed ontwikkeld;)
. Next time better I would say.

Maybe we can meet up in the summer to ride along?
Best regards

What brand of triple tree and bars did you use? Also, who made of what mold did you use to create the back taillight faring?

Hi.. I let the bars made by stunttoys.com comform own specs. I think they work out very well. The triple tree is the base from a kawasaki zx9r cut it of and welded in the original gl1000 steering stem. the steering plate is custom made. Also the seat is hand made by myself from a mould made of styro foam. Then made a contra mould at and made the seat as it is from polyester. Than i made the raster for the tail lights. made a print with red LED 's tail and brakelight and 2 orange blinker leds. Than filled it with a Ressin.
Hope you got the anwsers you askes for?
everything is hand made or customized . I think the only thing thats standard are the side covers and steps
kind regards Alexander

Why so rude and negative?

He mentioned that his girl's name is "Desi" in post #6, and even put her name on the valve covers.

from post#6 "tuned the engine to 97 horses on the wheel and 125 nm torque"

How did you achieve that extremely impressive increase in GL1000 engine performance?
