anyone know how it works?
it looks like the front "fender" is connected to that wishbone with the mono shock on it.

But it doesn't look like the forks are connected to the fender....

Maybe the setup is similar to shock absorber/strut and spring setup in a car?

Very interesting. Good share. :)

Edit: if the forks and fender are connected, maybe its a split system, with the main shock at the wishbone doing most of the heavy lifting, and the tiny shocks up top (like the old harleys had) work to dampen the steering?

It was profiled in Rednax’s recent link to front ends. I think I read it was very good at speed.

That's a stock BMW suspension setup from the mid-90's. You can see it better here with it's frame mounted pivot point. I remember seeing these when they came out and going "Whaaaa???" I'm guessing it reduced flex in the forks. They eventually moved away from it and returned to a more conventional set up. Maybe folks just didn't like the look of it. It is quite different.

BMW Telelever. Been around for a long time on their bikes. Still in use on some current models.

Its good but...and its a big but. Theres no dive, which is fine if you know that which I didnt when i rode one and midway through a corner when i needed a little more steering I gave it a front dab, expecting dive and therefore quicker steering but the bugger stood up and went straight on. Lucky it was an empty road

States:

“What surprised me as I drew up schematic illustrations of the Telelever at different points in its travel was just how much the rake angle and trail changed as the wheel moved through its 4.7 inches of travel: Rake increases about 5 degrees, and the gain in trail is close to 1.2 inches. In percentage terms, rake increases 20 percent and trail increases by 35 percent! Averaged over the length of the stroke,
