todays project..wiring up the third brake light on the bosses ryker. the factory lights are quite low and if some moron is following her to close they may not see them come on...plus it will get peoples attention when it comes on as I didn't hook up the tail light in it.
I included a 2 prong trailer plug in the harness so if she wants to remove the trunk and mount for it all we have to do is unplug the light.
the bonus..everything worked when I was done. anim-cheers1

I'm doing that with my 76. There is a bit of a gap between the lower edge of my corbin seat and the fender (I lowered the fender on it) and I found an led brake light on line that will fill the gap.
I'm going to wire it the same way..just the brake light.

I have added a light on the luggage rack mounted on my rear HD box for the exact same reason.

That is a super job.
I have often wondered about rear lights on vehicles, as in why they are fitted so low down.
Today I was driving in slow traffic behind a Hyundai Kona and I noticed that if I stopped too close
to it I could not see the lower rear light cluster as it was obscured by my bonnet (hood).
Your eyes are naturally drawn while driving to a point between 4 and 5 feet from the ground
anyway so I cant see the point of mounting these light clusters lower than that.

Yeah. Vehicles that aren't very tall don't have a lot of choice (even if the lights are at the top they are still low) but when you have enough height and even have some lights higher up there is no excuse. One of the things I like best about Kay's CR-V is that all of the rear lights are in the pillars so there is no excuse for anyone not to see them.

The CR-V also has amber turn signals. Why in the words would anyone build a vehicle with red turn signals in the 21st century?

The boss wanted to go practice her figure 8's, turns at speed, etc today.
She has been timid about going faster them 40 mph so I suggested she line it up straight and take it up past 40 mph in the parking lot. I may have made a mistake. Listen closely.
