We don’t advise breaking posted speed limits but I’m curious how fast have you been on a motorcycle and the situation. :crosso

On a track my fastest is about 125 mph on my Suzuki GS1000S at Texas World Speedway in 1981. On the road my fastest would be about 130 mph on my Suzuki RG500 on a German autobahn around 1988. That felt pretty fast at the time but I've had my bone stock Volvo XC60 up to a GPS verified 123 mph with some pedal still to go a few years ago driving to Munich so now even family sedans are pretty quick. Here's a shot of the Volvo's dash with the cruise control set at 115 mph on my way to the Intermot Motorcycle Show in Cologne in 2014:

I once had a 94 Suzuki GSXR 711 (750 frame with 1100 stuffed in) and I am pretty certain the speedo wasn’t that accurate, but it read 180 when I hit 5th gear....much past that I was running out of road..., or I meant track. :-D Guessing it was around 160-165 real speed.

I was running pretty much side by side with a ZX-11...mine was ahead just slightly.

06 GL1800 128.5 via GPS (stereo on, comfy...)

Brother RAT's original RAT was a CB1100 stuffed into a 900F frame, don't know how fast, cause helmet rode up.., but I was "up there bit"

oh, and yes all on closed course's...... :8)

175mph. Verified on the cops radar. ;)

There is a good story behind that. Some already know since this question gets asked every couple of years. lolol

...I know what I'M asking next time I see you.

Personally? Probably 110 on my GL1200, and it was still pulling when I chickened out. BRIEFLY touched 100 on my GL1000, just to see if I could. Oddly, not sure if I've cracked triple-digits with my KZ1300 yet.... My biggest hangup is realizing I'm on something I'VE taken the wheels off and I'VE put back together.

Gets me to slow down right-quick.

I don't know. In the 70's I had a (modified) GS750 flat out a number of times (140 plus IIRC). Had a 78 750F flat out a number of times. Had several GL1000's flat out a number of times, had a GL1800 flat out a number of times. Generally every time I get on one of my bikes it see's 100 plus.

My youngest son and I were out messing around with him on his cbr600 and me on my 77 cb750 F2. Took it up to 105 and climbing but backed off as soon as we approached traffic.

OH- almost forgot.

I nearly hit 55 on my CT-90.

(Yes, there was a tailwind. Yes, it was downhill. A LONG one.)

Years ago I went everywhere at 80 mph. Given an open road I had no problem pushing well into 3 figures. That was in the days before they brought in the points system on your licence. When the points came in within 2 years I had accumulated enough to be on my last chance. For me no licence means no ability to earn a living, so I wised up after that. Been point free for years now and keeping it that way. OK so some people call me slow but I don't mind. Never had my speed on a bike much beyond 110. I catch a lot of wind.

The speedo on my 1100 only goes to 80 MPH, but side by side with the '76 we ran to 118... The '76 was all- in, but the 1100 still had a little bit... (must be the gearing).

I did 160 Km/h (100 MPH) on my GS400 a few times and thought that was pretty fast (especially with a passenger on the back).
And I remember Mr.H having a speed wobble at about 135Km/h once  (I replaced the front tire shortly after and it didn't happen again even at higher speeds).

These days I live where all the roads have 80 Km/h speed limits and I usually try to keep it below 100 except for the occasional "test". Someone once said that guys with sidecars don't go as fast because they are already where they want to be.

Someone else once asked why so many people on bikes ride like they are in a hurry to get it over with....

And someone really wise observed that it is a lot more fun to ride a slow bike fast than it is to ride a fast bike slow :orange
