the latest....
The XL250 has moved on and I have started looking at the little Trail 90.
been cleaning it up some and began a parts needed list.

I think spending much time on this carburetor would just be turd polishing.
fortunately, there are plenty of cheap chinese knockoff carbs on ebay.
Affordable exhaust on the other hand are a little harder to find.

fun stuff. And I had intended, but forgot, to comment on one of your earlier remarks about "...you can't keep them all".
It's always nice to have a few projects in the hopper. I also find bikes come and go in my shop, but most come and fewer go. It is really hard to decide which ones not to keep.
Besides, as I tell my wife, they are like money in the bank. Seems to be working so far...

As long as it is a good vendor. Avoid kmotorwholesale2008 - he adverised shipping from Kentucky, but shipped from New Jersey, FedEx Smartpost which ends up delivery (when they finally got it USPS) through the PO. I bought a carb for a garden tractor, and it arrived with all levers bent back against the body like it had been thrown against concrete. Offered a 15% refund and I demanded 50% after fixing everything on it. But, a good vendor would have immediately offered to ship a replacement (I sent photos of the damage).cbrianroll wrote:A friend of mine buys those cheap carbs for the horriblely beat bikes/mopeds he gets running. I try hard to not keep a bunch of junk.Rat wrote: .... I see empty shelves !
With the way projects come and go around here, things change constantly.
one day the shelves are clear, next day, covered in bike parts.
