I think my eyes started to bleed trying to read it
Right!! I had the same reaction but it did have the pic I was looking for. Some people have a real gift for making things seem really complicated when they write it all down. I'm more of a visual learner as I expect most garage mechanics are. Look around for some videos to break down the mystique.
But in the end, you have to EARN the Bike Builder moniker (even if it's just lacing a wheel).

Some folks write information at the level they understand thinking everyone will understand it.
Others write things and explain it to the nth degree because they found it difficult to understand.
Like you mentioned..video's or pictures eliminate the problems..for most.

should I reuse the original spokes or go with new?
I'm going to paint them but I'm thinking that 40+ year old spokes..it wouldn't hurt to throw some Buchannan spokes in her.

If I were going through the trouble of respoking, I’d put in stainlesss steel spokes and power coat the rim and hub black or at least a very dark color for high contrast with the shiny spokes.

I'm going gloss black on the rim and hub, flat black on the spokes and gold nipples..
I thought about powder coat but I want to be able to touch up any oopsies during assembly or chips from rocks, etc so I'm going with paint.

Keeping paint on wrenched nipples is going to be tough (no personal experience).

I did re-spoke both wheels by myself.......it was a hell of a job and only succeeded with help of my "clever' drinking straw application approach.
Haan wheels did the alignement and tightening......perfect adres in Europe.....I was very satisfied.

Just about to attempt this myself... Maybe goin to get a local bloke to do it now that I've read abit about it.
I've been chasing down spoke sets. I happened across cmsnl just as a guide.. They list 2 sets of spokes for front wheel assembly... Set A = 20 and set B =20. One set is the inner spokes the other the outer spokes.
Is there any difference? I can't see a visual difference in length or anything else.
Another goldwing parts site.. Sell sets so I'm a bit curious as to that. https://www.goldwingparts.com/collectio ... 975?page=4

The difference is in the angle of the bend. One has more of an angle to it. I can't remember which goes where in regards to the hub though. I watched a video on youtube about respoking. I'll see if I can find it.
