Winter Motorcycling at its BEST!

#1

Post by desertrefugee »

Folks here might recall my fondness for the 1st Gen Vmax. Three currently in the shop, three past machines.

This has made the rounds in Vmax circles before, but it's winter again and it's fun to watch:

That guy is nuts.

(Forum etiquette won't let me say what I really think. It's very close to "Bat", "Poo", and "Insane".)
1997 Valkyrie- Light Cutomization, but Too Busy Riding
1980 KZ1300- Bike's Haunted
1976 GL1000 (Yellow)- It Runs (Poorly) and Doesn't Leak (Mostly)
1974 Velosolex 3800- Better Than Walking
1972 CB750- Broke the Chain And Ate the Motor
1969 CT90- The Most Fun You Can Have on 90ccs.
1965 CA77 Dream- Needs a Full Teardown, but Complete

All advice I give is only valid until an expert corrects me.

I knew a few guys years ago who were into ice racing. It was a (cold) blast to watch, very much like flat track racing. Those sheet-metal screwed tires could really tear you up if you got run over...

Yes I am afraid that my old Vmax bug has returned with a vengeance. It is a machine that can do no wrong in my book … If you don’t count a slow weave in the sweepers.

I haven’t been completely honest with you guys, but there are three, yes three, Gen1 Vmax’s in the garage these days.

Well, since you have three, maybe you can get distracted with making one of them a project like this...;-p

Last shot is one pretty bike BTW.

Yeah, I've seen this setup. Not bad, but kind of spendy. I'll stick with carbs.

That's OK if you like just going back & forth off road. I prefer to be actually going somewhere when I go for a ride....
