Ok, I know it isn't a GoldWing but at least it is naked. I normally focus on 1975-1977 GL1000s but I saw this interesting project and had to have it. This bike had one foot in the grave when I started with it but I am very pleased with the results. The bike appeared to have been parked outside for over 20 years with the alternator cover partially off so it collected sand, mud, millers, and rocks in the engine. The guy was probably trying to resolve a charging issue and broke a stator bolt off. Looks like he gave up after that happened and just parked it. It has about 16,000 miles on it. One amazing thing was the excellent condition of the tank and the carbs. These were very clean inside so he must have drained the gas before he parked it. At first, I assumed I would have to disassemble the engine to get it clean; however, after close inspection, it looked like the crap settled in the oil pan. I was able to clean out the engine without complete disassembly. I used a vacuum cleaner to do a lot of the work.

Re: 1982 Kawasaki KZ1100
Thank you for your comments. The color is candy Apple Red from the www.TheCoatingStore.com . I paid $300.00 for the bike and have about $1600.00 (total including the purchase price) in it now. These bikes were incredibly fast for 1982. I read where they would go up to 140 mph. It has a lot of power and is rated at 100+ hp.
