1800 fork seal question

#1

Post by Whiskerfish »

Just finished doing mine. Right at 30,000 miles since that last time. When i did it last i disabled the anti dive and this time it was the right side leaking.

So my question is why can't I use the double seal setup like the left side has on the right? Just leave out 1 of the 2 spacers and have the 2 seals?? Seems to be an easy way to make the right side more durable. The spacer and the extra seal are the same thickness by eye.

They put a double seal system in the left fork presumably because of the over pressurization from the anti Dive function. Not sure what year that started.

I cheated. Went with Traxxion. Never had a seal leak, but put 1500 fork protectors over the seal area and forks, held to the Kury fork brace with a zip tie.
