Wanted CBX parts info

#1

Post by Jonesz »

Hi again
Have a buddy who is trying to restore a 1979 CBX 1000. I have seen other Gl owners here that have restored/owned one of these old beauties.Just wondering if anyone has a lead on parts or where to find them. He is currently looking for a left side front turn signal among other broken/missing parts. They appear to be scarce as hens teeth but am thinking maybe some on our forum might have a lead or two?
Any help appreciated.

Great forums. I prefer CBXWorld if only for the "babe of the day" photos.

The indisputable king of CBX parts is Louis Mintrone. He has everything. If he doesn't have what you need, nobody will:

And you may already know this, but selecting an individual part on many sites such as Partzilla https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda ... uper-sport brings up a page that includes a where-used list so you can find a used part off of another model.

Thanks guys. Will check out Louis Mintrone for sure plus the two CBX forums. I have always used Partzilla (mostly) due to the other models that parts fit feature. Find it to be an invaluable help at times. I knew there was some folks here that have CBXs in their garages and appreciate the help.

Jnesz,I hope that you have already found what you need for your CBX, as a last resort, but in Europe, and with the related shipping and duty costs, you can try to contact: sixcenter.nl (Netherlands) cbx-nice .com (France) davidsilverspares.co.uk (England) and cmsnl.com (Netherlands)

Hi Paola
Thanks for the links. Will check them out. He has recently ordered some carb parts from https://www.arnold-korn.com/index.php/en/produkte/honda in Germany. Will let you know how the service works out. They should be here in a matter of days

+1 on CBXWorld and the babe of the day. In regards to the turn signals, they were unique to the CBX and Honda no longer offers them. The good news is that K&S offers an exact repro, so if your friend isn't dead set on having OEM or NOS, then he has a good option. Part #25-1135 is the front turn signals and 25-1136 is the rear. I can help him get those if he can't find them.

If he needs carb work done, J.R. Luksik of CBXtras is the man to go to. He's a member here, but he'll probably be easier to reach over on CBX World.

I know Korn, I bought from them too. I did not understand that you were looking for parts for carburetors, otherwise I would have indicated it. other siri widely supplied in Europe for carburettor parts, not just CBX, are: motorradbay.de in Germany and nrp-carbs.co.uk in England.
In Europe, avoid a German seller, Andy Cepok, he is also on Ebay, he sells Honda parts, and many pass them off as original but they are not.

Good info Paola. We will check out those links as well. There are quite a few things needed to get this bike road worthy. It runs well but some of the smaller bits are either rotted or damaged ie. mirror/rear caliper/some carb pieces/turn signal etc. He has already done the oil cooler lines and has the caliper seals on hand from the UK. Good to have other sites to shop for parts. Thanks
