On a side note, my KLR650 Kawasaki also has a sight glass, slightly larger, on the right hand side … it works really well …

Same with my KZ1300. It's got a decent-sized window on the clutch cover. Easy to replace if it breaks (no need to split the case), and real easy to see without cylinders and frame in the way...

My CX has a dipstick on the left so really easy to check even with the sidecar.

I just ride them till that little red light comes on. No need to bend over and check anything and risk putting my back out. I get the neighbours kid to pour in a quart or three at that point.
