Hello from NH!
Hi - Jeff from NH here. I was always vaguely aware of the ealy-GL's, but was always more interested in the inline 4's... until a 1977 GL parts / project bike came available near me last
winter.
It had a stuck engine, smashed headlight and was missing what I later found out were the hard to find bits. It is now unstuck, running and on the road, still some work to be done.
Very cool bike in terms of period style and engineering!

Re: Hello from NH!
Welcome to the fold. Nice 1000. I lived in Massachusetts for over a decade and spent many, many pleasant days motorcycling around New Hampshire. Love Winnipesaukee. One of the most pleasant places in the country to ride.

Welcome to the 'Wingdom.
You have the hardest part ... the grab rail ... anything else you need, just post in the 'Wanted' forum and someone will have it ... well ... maybe not bearings ...

Re: Hello from NH!
Thanks all glad to join and yes the riding in NH is quite good, especially in the fall! I have also acquired a few parts bikes along the way to support the '77, the fist was a '76 and the second was a '75. The '75 (second photo) was pulled out of a backyard junkyard were it had been on it's side for many moons. The '76 was missing the heads. Both are prospects for future projects!

Welcome from Maine!
Nice looking bike - the '77. I really like the gas tank on your parts bike. It's crushed like a beer can.

Re: Hello from NH!
Funny. They're not that tough to pull: Just remove the whole rear end, whack the top front with the palm of the hand a few times, and they slide right out.
I think I saw that parts bike advertised somewhere this past summer/fall (CL?). What I remember is that it looked like the yard had grown around it.

Re: Hello from NH!
Yes, the parts bike was a CL find late summer $50. The picture showed it on it's side with the woods growing in around it. The mangled tank was the result of a PO moving the hulk with a backhoe. It was rough, but had $50 worth of parts I needed.
