Hello, just wanted to introduce myself
I just got my first bike, an 84 gl1200 interstate, trading some mechanic work. It has been sitting for 12 years and the previous owner doesn't remember why it broke down in the first place.
I've wanted a bike since I was a kid but it was never really in the cards. I don't like the goldwing style but hey, the price was right. I stumbled across this site googling what it would look like without all the plastic and found out they actually look pretty awesome. I've since stripped almost all the plastics off and they are in surprisingly good shape considering how long it sat. I'm going to get the rest of it off this weekend to clean it all up and try to sell it all on Craigslist or eBay to try to fund the build. I've been looking through the site and I've already got a lot of good info to steer me in the right direction. The attached pics are from the pasture I picked it up from.

Re: Introduction
Welcome to the site.
To solve the sideways picture issue..host your pictures on a site like https://imgur.com/. for some reason this site doesn't like pics taken with a cell phone. lol
Put changing the timing belts at the top of your "to do" list.
Be sure to start a build thread in the Members restoration and projects forum. We love those threads with lots of pictures.
