Hello everyone. Dustin here, from southeast Kansas. Picked up a 78 GL1000 last year before winter hit and rode it a couple months now working on getting it back into shape so it is ready for the coming season and running better than when I bought it. Can't complain too much since I got it for a song and it is surprisingly quite nice to ride. Previous owner already replace the tires and had the seat reupholstered so that's a plus. Now, what should I do with it is the question. Think I want to ditch all the vetter stuff and get it naked again but not too sure beyond that.

Thank you. Timing belts, carb rebuild, dyna s ignition and coil upgrade, new plugs and wires, and valve adjustment are all on the to do list. Then at some point some suspension and brake upgrades.

Dang! $1.50 beers on Tuesday at the Nut Hut!

Nice ''78. Great year, if I do say so myself. My 78 was Vetterized, too. They are fun to strip down, but in some ways, I think the old fully dressed Vetter goldwing was pretty nice too.

Welcome!
