Back in the saddle again

#1

Post by Chachy »

Howdy everyone,

I'm looking at getting another bike after a couple year break from riding and thinking of a GL1000. I just saw a sweet 76 on Craigslist but and trying to 'buy with my brain' and not let those pesky emotions get in the way. My last bike was a 85 BMW K100 which I loved and it is one of the big reasons I'm leaning to the GL, disc brakes, shaft drives and 1000cc. The only down side is carbs but I can learn to deal with that.

We'll see how this works out.

Welcome to the club. Good luck with your search. The great thing about these old GL's is that there is a lot of info, parts, and help to get you, and keep you, up and running. Keep us posted on your progress.

Was just looking at the VIN table on Randakks...my '75 is 1003404, which makes it about 25% of the way (?) through the first year US production run. Only 36 thousand miles and change on her as well.

Will start a thread on this one's progress shortly...thanks again for the Welcomes!
