New owner in Wisconsin

#1

Post by 737driver »

New to me 1977 GL1000 with Russian Jupiter sidecar. Just turned over 15,000 miles on the ride home. Well cared for and maintained by previous owner. Looking forward to many rides with the kids!

Welcome from the UK, clean looking bike. What is your riding history? If you haven't already done so, change the belts!

anim-cheers1 anim-cheers1 anim-cheers1
Previous Rides,
1980 CB250N Good to learn on
1981 CX500 good mid range tourer, went to Austria on it!
1983 GL1100C Pride and joy, sold when I bought my 1st house, big mistake
1985 GL650 Silverwing another mistake, horrible bike
1986 CBX550 Good commuter
1989 Suzuki GS750 (1976) cheap and cheerful until a dog ran out in front of me on Xmas Eve, 1991
Current bikes
2010 CB1300 back on a bike after 19 years, two divorces, children grown up etc
1980 GL1100 NOW ON THE ROAD, still use CB1300.

I have been riding for about 18 years owned around 10 bikes, this is my 3rd vintage Honda but first goldwing and first sidecar setup. The carbs and timing belts were done 3 years ago along with fork seals and some misc gaskets. I will probably do the timing belts again this winter along with a radiator hoses and a flush along with some other misc maintenance like valve lash, timing etc. the bike runs great right now!

I had been watching it for awhile too, price wasn’t that firm with cash in hand. I can always fit another motorcycle in the garage somewhere!

Welcome fellow Packer Backer! I had also seen that on CL, Mineral Point wasn’t it? Your pics show the condition much better although loved his action shots cornering on the gravel road with the goggles on. Congrats it was a great buy on a sweet ride.
