1983 1100 Interstate with lot's of mods

Hello guys and thanks for letting me participate in your forum.

I have a 2010 GL1800 that I have made quite long trips on it but I've always wanted a naked one.

I recently found a 1983 Interstate were the PO who is a member of this forum did a good job on:
- Removing front fairing and extras and installed the headlight and turn signals of the naked version
- Replaced the engine by a 1200 with 1100 heads
- Installed a single carb with Weber 32DFT
- A couple of other cool stuff

Now, I'll concentrate more on keeping it running well as it is now and work on the TLC needed.

BTW: The belts have been changed :-D

Previous Rides,
1980 CB250N Good to learn on
1981 CX500 good mid range tourer, went to Austria on it!
1983 GL1100C Pride and joy, sold when I bought my 1st house, big mistake
1985 GL650 Silverwing another mistake, horrible bike
1986 CBX550 Good commuter
1989 Suzuki GS750 (1976) cheap and cheerful until a dog ran out in front of me on Xmas Eve, 1991
Current bikes
2010 CB1300 back on a bike after 19 years, two divorces, children grown up etc
1980 GL1100 NOW ON THE ROAD, still use CB1300.

But, if we have no photos, we can't definitively say it exists. Just sayin'...

Curious about your setup. I’m wondering if the 1100 is the best overall gearing. I have a 1200 and have had it in a 77 1000. It was geared too low IMO with the 77’s 3.40 final drive. Currently I’m happy with a 1500 final drive 2.83, but wonder if the 1100 would be best. If you haven’t ridden the other models, you probably don’t know yet.

Love to see pics of it.

77 WING, 1200 engine with 77 heads, cams, gl1100 foot pegs, Magna V65 front end, 764A carbs, [-gone Suzuki M109 monoshock--, replaced with gl1100 shocks] gl 1200 swing arm, gl1500 final drive, wheel and rear brakes Valkyrie seat, Meanstreak tank, Sportster pipes, Power Arc ignition off crank.
