Hello All
Hello NGWclub members,
I am the new owner of a 1978 GL1000 (dressed at this point). I have been lurking the site for a few weeks, and picking up some pointers on basic maintenance to get this bike ready for the road. Since I don't have a history on it, I assume that nothing has been done to it.
Thanks to all of the great members here who have already been invaluable with maintenance tips from the many posts. This is an awesome site, and I am happy to be a member here.
So far I have replaced the timing belts, valve adjustment, fixed some exhaust leaks, fixed some electrical problems, and other minor mechanical problems. I am looking to change fluids, set timing (elect ignition installed by a previous owner) and then get her out on the road before winter sets in hard. Carbs are trashed, but that will probably be a winter project. I'll save up my pennies, and have them professionally done.
Thanks for having me as a member,
Dan P.
aka Rotty
