Hi guys!
I’ve recently sold my BMW and Vstrom. Still trying to figure out why I did that. I honestly think I had a momentary lapse of sanity and I genuinely mean that.
I’ve been riding for as long as I can remember.
I had a few wings many years ago and enjoyed riding them. I’ve been eyeballing pics of custom wings for about a year and I really like them and thought maybe I’d keep an eye out for one. I’ll be looking at one soon so I may be a new owner.

Re: Thinking of getting a wing
I've had 6 (one was new in '06, still have a '78). Now I watch for "fence row finds" to rescue. Keeps me off the streets. The 1000s had (originally) a very simple point ignition and overly-complicated electrical system that luckily is easy to fix. Even fairly bad condition 1000s can be rescued given time and elbow grease (and $$$).

Re: Thinking of getting a wing
Thanks guys. I picked one up today from a member. Looking forward to getting started.
Pidjones… I see you have a 76 RD400. You didn’t happen to buy that from a guy in Illinois did you? I used to have one. It would be funny if you have it now. Loved that bike.

No, bought it as a "rolling basket case" last August in Columbus, OH. Was Chappy Red. I repainted it Geneva Green like the one I bought new in '76.

Re: Thinking of getting a wing
I’m looking for a wing project also, I have 13 motorcycles dirt bikes and street bikes but I’ve been looking at a lot of naked goldwings and just love the looks of them what would be a good start the 1000, 1100 or the gl1200 ? Seems like the prices for the 1000 are higher

GR 8 restore on the 400. You are asking a ? that will get as many different answers as we all have particular likes. I am very partial to my 78 cause as Rodger says they are the best looking!!
