Hello, Versailles France

#1

Post by tglx »

Hi,
Just made a child dream real.
I bought a Honda GL1100 1982 (standard) this summer.
I am doing some work on it to refresh some parts.
The initial work was to find and install a new exhaust pipe as the previous one was out of order.
Bike is running fine and it's a real pleasure to ride it.
I'm joining this group to share and learn :)

Hi All,
Thank you for the welcome messages.
The bike has been painted in Grey using a paint from Renault. That was in 2002.
Paint code is REN632 "Gris Boreal".

I'm not sure about the initial color, I couldn't find it from the S/N ...

Best information I could find is :
For GL1100 1982 built for France and Germany, the colors were :
PB102C. I could only find PB102CS which is Candy Grandeur Blue Sp. (Is it different from PB102C ???)
NH1 : Black
R114CU : Candy Wineberry Red

Which is probably the color of yours "5speed".

I haven't had a chance to meet with the initial owner to know how the bike was .
I'm the 4th owner ... and it has been painted by the 2nd.
I knew this bike for more than 10 years and I was happy when the last owner called me to sell it :-)

Greetings! I like the silver on the bike. The 1100's are solid runners. With a good carb balance they are very smooth through acceleration. Enjoy,
Goldwings don't accelerate, they gain inertia.

1978 GL1000 - almost stock - needs a head replaced, parts are ready to install!
1979 GL1000 - Winter project/parts bike - custom "Busted"
1983 GL1100 Standard- raised from the dead and back to organ donor status
And the newest acquisition, 1979 XS 650F to be a sidecar tug. crossy.gif
