Hello, Versailles France
Hi,
Just made a child dream real.
I bought a Honda GL1100 1982 (standard) this summer.
I am doing some work on it to refresh some parts.
The initial work was to find and install a new exhaust pipe as the previous one was out of order.
Bike is running fine and it's a real pleasure to ride it.

Nice looking machine! I mailed a factory gl1100 Aspencade (his bike was Gray in colour)radio tuner to your part of the world (Montigny-le-Bretonneux) this past summer. Hopefully you meet up with the owner in your travels. Anyway your location caught my eye. Welcome

Hi All,
Thank you for the welcome messages.
The bike has been painted in Grey using a paint from Renault. That was in 2002.
Paint code is REN632 "Gris Boreal".
I'm not sure about the initial color, I couldn't find it from the S/N ...

Re: Hello, Versailles France
Best information I could find is :
For GL1100 1982 built for France and Germany, the colors were :
PB102C. I could only find PB102CS which is Candy Grandeur Blue Sp. (Is it different from PB102C ???)
NH1 : Black
R114CU : Candy Wineberry Red
Which is probably the color of yours "5speed".
I haven't had a chance to meet with the initial owner to know how the bike was .
I'm the 4th owner ... and it has been painted by the 2nd.
I knew this bike for more than 10 years and I was happy when the last owner called me to sell it

Re: Hello, Versailles France
Greetings! I like the silver on the bike. The 1100's are solid runners. With a good carb balance they are very smooth through acceleration. Enjoy,
Goldwings don't accelerate, they gain inertia.
1978 GL1000 - almost stock - needs a head replaced, parts are ready to install!
1979 GL1000 - Winter project/parts bike - custom "Busted"
1983 GL1100 Standard- raised from the dead and back to organ donor status
And the newest acquisition, 1979 XS 650F to be a sidecar tug.

Welcome from Maine, USA. Looks like you found a good one. I have an '82 Interstate gone naked. (Cabernet, if you're interested in the build thread.)
I agree with Sparkyrasmus.
