Hello Everyone!!

Post by MrGoldwing »

Greetings from Hotel California.
Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your group.

I have a 1978 Honda Goldwing GL 1000, with blown head gaskets on both sides.
I'd like to purchase both rebuilt cylinder heads for my model year Goldwing (1978).
Anyone has them??
Much appreciated..

Welcome aboard from St Louis. It would be a rare find if someone has rebuilt heads for sale. Unless yours are in extremely bad shape, it's not a hard project to do yourself. Plenty of help here to walk you through the process.

Heads generally need little work, but small shops can regrind the seats if they are badly pitted. Don't grind the valves-just buy new ones. Valve stem seals are easily replaced. Cleaning well, ensuring flat surfaces, and proper torquing (including chased moly-coated threads and washer) are key to making sure head gasket leaks don't return. Oh, and make sure you reassemble with new belts!
