Ol' Sparky does have rear shocks on it. They are just hidden underneath. If you run without rear shocks you may want to use a springer type seat. A ridged bike will beat you up pretty quick.

Quick question: in Post #1 at the beginning of this thread you were using your iPhone to measure the angle of the forks. I want that app - what's it called?

Nice project BTW,a and thanks for the tutorial on raking the front end. That is really simple and I'll for sure make this mod when I get to this project.

Nice E36 too. I have a pair for daily drivers- 97 sedan and 97 vert. They keep me busy.

If you have an android phone, the app is called Clinometer and it works just like shown in page 1. Very useful app but not free from what I recall. About $5 ish.

' Clinometer ' yes that is correct. I got it from Apple 2 years ago (.99). Has since gone through a few
updates. I use it when fitting bicycles, go figure, but comes in handy for many things.

thanks

I bought one for my android last night. It's slick. I can see lots of uses for it.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Lost for words, I grew up with a brother that used to do this kinda thing to old British bikes & would love to have a bike half as good as this one. I did the straight thru pipes like yours & they were way loud, even after fitting some 4in baffles, would be nice to know what number in decibels there kicking out. Mine sounded great on tickover but when i was wound up, wow, hear it a mile away!!!!!

Thanks Frank,
I won't lie it's an ear full when she's taped out,
but not any louder than an HD with fishtails.
It does not have that ear cracking hi-mid range tone
that open pipe Japanese bikes normally have.

I actually have a Db meter around here someplace.
I just may take a reading. as of yet though I haven't
disturbed the peace.

I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to steal your idea or Devo26's Triple 9, but you can bet your back bumper I'll be PMing you about that carburetor setup!
