Mockin' up the new tank and relocation of the radiator. Gonna us the stock fan but i have to have a new custom radiator built. Styrofoam works pretty good if you dont mind it snowing in your garage. Also, finally figured out what i am gonna do with the coil packs as far as placement. But, i am gonna have to buy some more presentable coils.....any ideas? I am going to mount them on the triangle engine mounts.

Gonna add some type of guard to protect the radiator from the road junk.

Nice......but i really, really dont like to see wires. It takes alot of work and planning to pull off, but worth it to me in the end. Not only that but i am tryin to straddle the line between bobber/chopper and sport bike. Yea yea....i know...make up my mind right? So i try to keep everything low in the frame. Pretty cool though when yall find these examples....how do yall do it? Has anybody here on NGW done anything like mine?

I have not seen any yet bro. The radiator setup in the previous picture is just to show that rear mounted radiators are possible...

Absolutely not!

You can tell just by holding the OE coil sprung shock in one hand and the gas shock in the other...it's way lighter.

Please don't use the big ugly stock fan! there are much better options out there, like these

Most autos use similar these days. Have a look through your local breaker's yard and see what you can find.

Decided to do a bomb tank that will integrate the small drycell battery in the nose cone and hold the radiator on the tail. I have been looking for an actual Airforce practice bomb to modify but i can seem to find any that fit the bill. Any body got one layin around in the garage? If i cant find one in the next week or so i am gonna send this project to my buddies at the custom welding shop. Little to advanced for my small amount of welding experience.

The springs are at the spring shop having the bushings pressed in. It is a on the side job for them, so it may take a while! Once i get them back i will be able to make the shackles for the axle attachment. I am considering preloading the spring with a tight coil spring just behind the pivot point on the mounting bracket. This way i will get a little softer initial hit for the smaller bumps. Inside the coil spring i can put a rubber bump stop so that the leaf spring can take over from there?!? Just an idea. Tryin to make sure i keep my kidneys relatively in the same spot.

Not sure you need to preload with more than a rubber bump stop, but no experience in this area.

I did a leaf spring seat on my bosses bike, [81 iron head sportster] it gives a very good ride.
all of the old seat mounts have been cut since the pic was taken.

Hal, don't know anything about your shocks, sure are nice though. They appear to me to be upside down as the debris can fall onto the seal whereas if they were mounted the other way the debris would fall away from the seal. Just my opinion.

Finally got the springs back!!! Got to mock up the shackles now. Found a "energy suspension" kit at the auto parts store for 16 bucks that almost took care of all my bushing, taper washers and hardware issues in one swoop!!!!! Hope to have it all together by the end of the week (the leafs that is)!

Also started on the bomb tank. I gave up on the real thing. Never matched the size and the pocket book. Slice cut the tank and tapered it down to mimic the real deal!

SOOOOOo heres where i am at.......
