Nice! I really like the lines of the spoiler and radiator trim. Don't recall that from your build thread. I'll have to go back and check it out! Enjoy the ride!

Looks somehow familiar!!! Nice color selectionJwise76 wrote:Just start doing mock ups with my 1977 Gl1000, the design uses a single sided swing arm, will have a modern inverted fork front end along with custom fuel tank and seat. Let me know what you think...

Here’s one I built last winter. Originally a 78 gl1000. Had custom grind on crank and cams, ported heads and matched the cases, added 100 shot of nitrous to a single carb conversion. Replaced fake tank with 76 style shelter. Drag pipe exhaust. Runs like a wild banshee.

Re: Any Off the wall custom building being done to their GLs ???
Hello. This sounds like just the site i need! I'm butchering my '84 GL1200 Aspencade. I've taken all the covers off including the faux tank, pull out the factory tank and bought a coffin tank to mount up top, bought a single carb conversion kit, stripped off the entire factory wiring harness, unhooked the front caliper from the foot brake, etc. I'm bobber bound but have a few technical shortcomings! I want nothing on the bike that isn't absolutely necessary but i'm ignorant as to what is essential for the firing and charging systems. Are there any former threads I can research or other recommendations?
Thanks and i'll post pics soon.

Re: Any Off the wall custom building being done to their GLs ???
I've been chopping up my 82 interstate since I dumped it and wrecked all the bags and fairings. She is pretty bobbed already, but I keep finding more to do. Since the snow is about to start flying up here in Maine, I have made a home in the workshop for a nice winter project. Cafe seat, mono carb, hydro clutch and custom suspension, exhaust, levers, etc soon to come. I will start a post with oodles of pictures. Love the "custom not restoration" forum!

Looking forward to getting some help from the pros out there. I have a '90 GL1500 that I am stripping down. More to follow, I will start a thread for my scooter.

Re: Any Off the wall custom building being done to their GLs ???
My 83 gl1100 that went into surgery last January. Road King fairing, xs650 flat track seat, air ride, 94 something glide rear fender and semi truck led headlight in a dune buggy bucket. Looking into other gas tank options. This is a highly modified 86 vt1100 tank but would like something more streamlined. Any ideas?
