Hello,
today I finished the front turn signals. I had to rebulid the holders. Now thy are made of alloy and painted black. For me, it looks much pretty.
A pair of new ignition coils are mounted. I hope to have less breakdowns
And I found a new Dyna electronic ignition for less than the a half price on ebay. I'm note sure if the electronic ignition is much better than the the old contact breakers.

And I started to change the rear master cylinder. The old one was damaged and rusty. I found a used one from a Yamaha R1. Okay, the mounting holes will not fit to the GL frame. So I'm building a holder of alloy.
First I had to find the right shape. Than made this holder out of corrugated cardboard. After the holder of paper fits to the Yamaha master cylinder, i build one of a peace of wood. With the wooden holder I could wrench the master cylinder to the frame.
It's easyer to test the function of the holder and the master cylinder an a naked frame. So I took my old frame for testing.
I will use allen bolts to mount the master cylinder later. Heres the view from inside the frame.
The distance between the foot pedal and the brake cylinder had to be corrected.
The Yamaha Cylinder has a 13mm diameter and teh GL cylinder has 14mm. I think the Yamaha will work fine.
next I have to file the holder smooth and paint it black.

Thank's, Yes I had tested it with the naked frame and with the frame together with the swing arm and the tank. There is enough "air" between the swingarm and the master cylinder.
I will took pictures during the mounting.

Great build, Harald. A pleasure to follow along with you on this. Your conversion to an R1 master cylinder gives me food for thought. I may have an issue with a master cylinder on a project I’m currently working on for which replacements are scarce as hen’s teeth. You’ve made it look easy to convert, although it won’t be, but there is hope if I cannot find an OEM replacement.

You said the mounting holes won't fit the GL frame - but with your alloy holder it seems like a good match up. Your handi-work is looking good!

saturday was a day for working on Uschi. I implanted the rear brake cylinder into the wing ... everything is very tight, but it fits
First painted the holder after the overcasting during the week. Appropriate screws and nuts bought. Here's a picture of the cylinder with the holder when dismounted:
and built in here. I was able to move the swing arm freely up and down and it has enough space to the cylinder.
now I have to measure and order the steel braided hoses ....
then it was the turn of the front brake. First remove the 77 fork, as the mounting holes of the new brake calipers do not fit. So I purchased a 78er fork. This has the correct spacing for the brake calipers of the VF 750 F RC015 with 32mm brake pistons.
The fork fitted right away. Only the holder of the calipers had to be adjusted easily. But that was done quickly. The speedometer drive will be replaced by a spacer. But I still have to get it made.

Part two,
Here are the front brake caliper brackets ... I had to remove the marked area by one millimeter.
On the back, too, I had to use the file to remove the peaks that were not quite a millimeter high.
Screwed on you can see that there is enough space for the disc and nothing grinds.
And this is what it looks like when a 77er front wheel is held by a 78er fork and the brake calipers of a VF 750F RC15 are fitted.
Now everything has been removed again and the holder sanded and painted silver. The calipers dismantled and new pistons and seals and the squar seals and new Bleeder ordered. The floating calipers are then painted again in black.
The fork still needs to be cleaned and ground. The fork seals and the dust cuffs are already coming from England.
The Goldwing is slowly becoming a motorcycle again and I'm looking forward to the summer with her.

Hello,
this week I build a new Honda emblem for my GL. I looked for a Honda font and printed out the name of the GL "USCHI". I took a 2mm brass sheet and a 1,5mm aluminium sheet and cut out the letters.
The same size as the Honda emblem.
I soldered 3mm brass screws to the brass sheet to screw the emblem onto the wrong tank.
I polished the brass and sanded the letters. Then I glued the letters to the sheet.
And this is how it looks now.
Now Uschi can proudly show her name. Next I have to clean the new fork and renew the seals and the dustrings.
