MODIFIED CENTRE STAND
Getting a little older it gets a little harder getting the Wing onto the centre stand. Some folks just dont have the strength to get it onto the stand.
SOLUTION:
Make a ride off stand. I made one of these for my 1500 (Heavy Bike). Once you have one of these stands you will wonder how you got by without one. I made one today for my 1200 and it works a treat.
The modification lets both wheels and the centre stand contact the road together. This also enables the rider to get on the bike while on the centre stand and ride off. I can put both the 1200 and the 1500 on the centre stand without getting off the bike..love it.
Tools required are
Cut off saw
Tape Measure
Grinder or flapper disc
Welder.
To get the correct measurement to shorten the stand place the bike on a dead level surface on the centre stand. Now measure the distance or gap between the rear tyre and the floor..this is the distance you need to shorten the centre stand.
Check out the pics..

Re: MODIFIED CENTRE STAND
Looks good. A few years back someone posted the same but suggested using 2/3 or the measurement at the tire since the stand is about 2/3 from front axle to back axle. This might not be as easy to put up, but leaves fudge factor for a larger tire. I was going to do it. Took the stand off and like it better that way. I park it on a 2x4 in the garage. There are times when having a ctr stand is handy, though.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Re: MODIFIED CENTRE STAND
Nice job & thanks for taking the time to do a write up Jurassic
I wonder if it would work to just cut the feet off of the legs?

Re: MODIFIED CENTRE STAND
If you just cut the bottoms off you will still need to have the flat plates to prvent the stand sinking in soft soil. Plus the way I did it you dont have to modify the spring brackets...cheers mate!

Very cool idea (but I like to be able to have the back tire off the ground).

Re: MODIFIED CENTRE STAND
the longer shocks option only works for folks with long legs, stock seat height goes up accordingly
