Building a bobber ol sparky replica

#1

Post by Topwingnut »

I have been reading an studying the build by hott .. So I decided to go ahead an start the project ... As far as copying his design I have been going at it step by step but have changed up a few things ... Now as far as making things work out there is no way to cut any corners as far as frame modifications... Everything hott did I have had to do .... If I knew how to post pics here I would ... Maybe someone can help me out with that ....paint scheme is undecided I'm thinking all satin black ... Engine an all .... Open to ideas if anyone wants too throw some my way ....

If that doesn't work, ask again. It's a bit different for computer/ipad/ smart phone setup. As for copying Hott's build, be very, very careful. It's extremely addictive.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

I'm telling you guys that hott put alot of thought into his build an every little corner that I thought I was gonna cut has came to a dead end ... Like the mounting of the left shock I know hott cut his frame an moved it out 3/8 of an inch for clearance there's no way around this it has to be done ... I thought I was gonna be able to keep the rear master cylinder in its factory location but with mounting the right shock once again I was proven wrong .. Maybe the only way around this would be to make a steel plate that runs from one side of the engine to the other an weld ur shock mounts to it so u can clear everything ... I didn't think of that tho until I had already cut my brake pedal an center Stand mount outta the way ... So if I can say thanks to hott for his hard work an thoughtless hours of thinking I'm definatley gonna do so ... Thanks hott ur the man !!! Still more to come I'm sure

Welcome from WA. Looks like a build I need to watch.
