See post #492. Nothing obviously wrong/broken on that one. Put it together and coolant started leaking as soon as I started the bike. Not the dribble kind like you get sometimes after sitting over the winter. But a good steady leak. Didn't get the chance to ride it. Didn't even take the time to warm it enough to adjust the carbs.

Sometimes low miles are a bad thing. Seals and gaskets get dry and won't "seal" any more.

Had that bike been sitting for a long time not running? Mine has been on the road for the past four years with no issues. That being said, I have a note into the Honda dealer for a price on a new pump and the various seals. I'm having some troubles finding one online that won't charge me a ton for shipping to Canada and then I also run the risk of getting hit with duty and taxes as it comes across the border.

It will cost you a couple hundred for the pump..
Not sure if I kept the receipt from when I bought mine from Honda..
I made a post with all the part #'s for the various o rings, washers, seals and gaskets you will need to change it.

I think sitting is hardest on the pump. I'm usually one to say do it now, while it's apart, but if everything seems tight, I'd probably run it as is. My 2 cents...

I managed to track down a decent deal on an OEM pump and a KP gasket set, so those will hopefully be here next week. My local Honda dealer wanted $75 more for the pump than I could get it online even with shipping included. Trade off is they could have had it here on Wednesday. I've still got some odds and ends that need to be sorted out before I can insure it anyway, so I can work on those in the mean time. Mainly the front fender and speedo sensor left to figure out. The fender I have now is too narrow for the new front tire, and the stock CBR fenders don't have the right look, so I am looking into other options. I'd like to keep it fibreglass or plastic to match the rest of the body work.

Pulled the old water pump and it had a lot of corrosion and calcification between the orings, so maybe it was starting to leak?

Still waiting on the water pump and gaskets, so I’ve been slowly ticking off the rest of the small items left on my list. Spent some timing doing a few paint touch ups and mounting the speedo pickup. I didn’t want the sensor mounted on the front wheel, I don’t like the look of the extra wire running down there. I extended the wires so I could mount it at the rear wheel and ended up re-using the original acewell speedo bracket to mount the sensor.

Not sure what the bolt hole on the rear caliper is supposed to be for, but it worked perfect for this

The sensor magnet is getting epoxied into the top of a cap nut and then that goes onto one of the rotor studs.

Gave the wheel a few good turns and the speedo was picking it up, so guess I did it right. That was the last of my wiring jobs other than installing the brake light modulator when it shows up, but that is supposed to be plug and play. Soooo close

Looks slick. What brand brake light modulator did you buy? I've looked at several but haven't made a choice...

Just a cheap Chinese one from fleabay...but it has good reviews and a few YouTube videos on it. Was worth the order to try it
