Building long fendered bike

Hey guys,I'm replacing the front fender on my 77 with something that covers more. One idea was a later painted one from 81(?). It needs to clear the stock 19" .redrilling doesn't worry me. I tried finding 10" high mini-apes,but I'm too cheap to pay $140 for Flanders, when emgo sells 8" for around $33. Considering stock later bars ,again from an eighties gl...a bit higher, still 7/8". Give me some input.

1100 fender will work, need to move mounts too.

Ape's you will need custom cables too.

1100 bars are a bit higher but not that much.

I think the 1100 forks have a brace that the 1000 do not.
I do not know if that is important?

I don't think I need the brace. I'm looking for a front fender something like a Harley FL,but I refuse to use Harley parts. I'm funny that way. I already have a 6.5" wide long rear fender nearly done.I'm keeping the laced wheels,so the front has to clear the 19". Fender blanks used to be cheap, now they're way overpriced. The rise on my stock bars is 7". I could use a seat pan as well.

I installed a gl1100 front fender on my 1975 gl1000 trike.
It bolted right up to the stock fork lower legs' holes, over the stock size 19" tire.
I haven't followed up on my installation yet, but, the fender's mounting brackets' holes could be relocated a bit further up to place the fender a little closer to the tire.

Post an inquiry in the Wanted section for a GL1100 fender.
If there isn't a reply for one available from a member, eBay is a good source for one. Take a close look at them for condition.
I bought mine there for a decent price, sanded the original paint down, and rattle canned it with Krylon Fusion paint that was remarkably close to matching one of the colors already on the fairing.
Total investment was about $40.

I've decided to build a long front fender. In fact,I'm posting this during a beer break. I bought green foam at Michaels craft store and carefully drawn the pattern on the 5" wide stack of foam sheets. I've been taking stage photos and will post if there's any interest. A fiberglass seatpan is 3/4 done, something like the old kawi LTD seats(stepped). If anyone has a few tips on this, now's the time to speak up,guys! I must admit,I'm liking the results so far.

#1. Layout on foam block. #2sides relieved to make it easier to demold. #3 coated in latex paint to seal open-cell foam. #4. Two coats of resin ,then skimcoat of bondo, and sand till you can't anymore...repeat,lol.

Almost ready for sealing. I'll hit it with 3M #77 spray adhesive, then lay aluminum foil on it,then trim close.using a bondo spreader to work out wrinkles and air.
