Re: Building long fendered bike
That's the very reason I love it. Not a 'cookie cutter' build, by any means. There's never going to be another one like it, hand built, and one of a kind. It's an inspiration to me...digschopper wrote:Most are building cafe custom gl's,so I didn't expect the interest given to my heavy cruiser project. It motivates me. Thanks to all.

I have been reading this and following along because your bike IS a heavy looking cruiser, my favorite.
Great job, can't wait to see it all together.

Re: Building long fendered bike
Thurs/Fri off,so going to push it hard. The stone guard cips were flimsy,so I welded it to the rim. I want a home powder coating kit,but money's tight, and I'd need a used oven as well...gotta p coat the bars, valve covers, etc.

Re: Building long fendered bike
Threw on a side cover and fender to see if it's what I was aiming for. It is.

3 Honda concept bikes leading up to production of the Rune, last is first gen. Valkyrie. Lots of ideas here. I personally hate the front end on the Rune,it makes my ex mother-in-law look good.

Re: Building long fendered bike
This is...not sure what to call it...front cover? The side parts are split exhaust tube(1 3/4"?)they clip on to the fork tubes between the trees. The plate ties in with 6 screws nice and tight. Sides mount the Lucas replica 7" headlight shell. Note batwing detail that is used throughout the bike. That bulge in the top center of plate covers the steering lock.
