My only custom wing resto

#1

Post by Irishman1 »

This is the 77 gl I got from a fellow NGW member last year. The other one became ruthes red 75 you can see in the restoration panel. I'm building this one for my son, ian. He's traveling the worlds oceans as a merchant marine and I'm hopeful it will be done by this fall when he returns. I've taken it to the frame and replaced all the fasteners and repainted the frame while removing un-needed items. I'm shortening it and putting a single seat. I've made a short front fender and today I'll cut and roll the rear to match, then paint the fenders gloss black too. The body panels will be flat black.
First rebuild that is not back to showroom stock condition!!!

Cool, but I'm experiencing a bit of vertigo, lol! When you say you're 'shortening' it, what exactly do you mean? Shortening the wheelbase, or lowering the bike? Either way, looking forward to more p pics...

the attachment tool here is finicky. I've uploaded pics that were sideways and deleted them, rotated the pic 90 degrees and it uploads sideways. Rotate it 180 and it uploads that way...rotate it back 90 and it uploads 180 off.

If you are looking with an "I" product...IPhone, IPad, Irishmans images are oriented correctly, which makes me think that is what he is using to post.

It is fun to hop on a desktop and look through your own posts and see them turned wonky, but on the iPad, they are just fine. Just a quirk with the photo attacher I guess.

Will like to see what this one looks like when it is done....You do great work with all the other bikes you've brought back!
