To be honest, I'm beginning to tire of this exercise myself. If you take away all the photoshop and cardboard, has anything actually changed on the motorcyle sitting in that garage? Forgive me as we're now up to page 15 and this may already have been discussed, but is there a reason that the design phase has been so excruciatingly long??

It truly is time to fish.

Sorry desertrefugee, I did not want to tire with my tread. In the forums, most of all the treads do not interest the greater part of the readers. Until now, I have benefited from all the feedbacks. Either I followed this idea or had another idea afterwards, or I knew what I did not want. As I said, I plan to shoot the engineer in February, because I've reserved a month to build the motorcycle in March. Until then, I have plenty of time to design and fantasize. I'll be back with the finished motorcycle.

shoot the engineer now Don and start building..make changes as you go..that is the fun and frustrating part of a build.

Make it your own. Stop speculating on what someone else thinks. JUST BUILD THE DAMN THING!

I disagree. Take your time. I have enjoyed the idea flow. A guy who’s done a bunch of good builds can crank them out pretty easy the way he wants. But, for a newer guy, for a build to work out the way he wants takes foresight. Lots of times you see people make adaptations which have good intentions but simply don’t look that good.

By posting ideas here he can get opinions from veterans which may save him a good ride and perhaps his skin. Several times members here have saved me some headaches from what I’ve attempted. I’m 61, but I’m a juvenile when it comes to building anything.

I will share Don, that moving the seat backwards may not give the desired result. I did not like the seat position on mine and thought lower and further back would make it more comfortable. So I did it. The lower seat height is great for rolling the bike backwards, but with it further back, I find that on bigger bumps, it picks my butt up and throws me forward anyways. A longer swing arm helped a little. The engineers probably got the rider position about right.

Maybe the veterans will way in on that. Perhaps it can be adjusted with shocks.

Perhaps your right. I tend to do the same thing,. but I do it in my head. But sitting in the privacy of my own shop,..surrounded by my other bikes, which show me what works, and what don't,...and come up with a plan. Then work the plan,......and then share the results, if I'm satisfied. If not, the process starts again. Just my way I guess.

+1 There are plenty of builds on here that have and are taking forever, this is his bike his thread, give him the space to work out the design how he wants.

A word about 'chin' type rads & shrouds...
The square-ish chin intake is good for show or drag use, but won't tolerate all around riding.
You can increase the core count to help with volume and standing cooling (with fan), but because of it's location
as speed increases air thru flow will actually decrease. The wheel/ tire combo will create a low pressure area
the faster you go, thus the reason for shrouds (it's an aero thang). The high mount narrow/wider single rad, or the double wing style will catch the best air.

As you can see, the creative juices run deep around here. I apologize for coming off as I did last night. If it matters, it was the end of a long day and I am actually getting anxious to see this thing move forward with the design you settle on. I already love the stance, but I guess I'm getting impatient to see the evolution. I certainly don't want to stifle the creative process, but the truth is you now have a LOT of options to sort through. I am sure that in end, your final product will be something unique.

So, DG - February is fast approaching. Make hay while the January sun shines! And please forgive my overzealous jabs at your development process.

Thank you all.

I have cleaned the front frame even more. I think more frame is almost impossible. Because i know i could mount the original radiator anytime and it will works (the original connections remain as they are), i'm curious what else is possible. So I could try a non-optimal radiator, control the water temperature and crawl back at any time.
