The images got all jacked up. Sorry about that.

Craiglist - $550 needed some work on the brakes. Started on it late last fall but it got put on the back burner. Got back at it this week.

As purchased last fall.

Going with a V-Rod seat and rear fender and GL1100 shelter.

Had to shorten the lower shelter door and make the doors one piece to clear the seat. I 3d printed an ABS filler piece a that will take up the gap.

Need to fiberglass/blend the shelter and side covers to seat.

Mechanically - new caliper seals and brakes seals all the way around, new tires, wide magna bars, fork seals, and shocks.

Have belts and idlers to do along with sorting out the headlight, instruments, controls, exhaust and wiring.

Not sure if you’ve googled it yet, but if you search GL1100 VROD you should come across a couple videos of a similar build. One was a picture slideshow that showed some of the process of putting it together. Might help you out with the build.

I finally finished this up. Didn't take a lot of pictures but here is how it turned out.

Got a little sidetracked but finished the paint last weekend.

Had to do head gaskets and that kind of put me off on the whole project.

If anyone wants any details let me know.

Exhaust is Suzuki TL1000

Very nice except for the lack of a front fender. But for show and fair weather (and dry roads) it looks great!

Awesome. Any details on blending the 1100 tank to 1200 side covers? I need to do the same.

Also, what display is that and did u have any trouble wiring and calibrating?

Instrument cluster was from Amazon. I put the wheel sensor on the back caliper bracket and made two aluminum pieces bolted to the rotor with the magnets JB welded in. No issues at all. Used the factory tach wire, neutral, fuel level, and 5th gear signal (has a gear indicator in the cluster but only lights up when in 5th and has a signal)

I will get some images of the side covers, I basically put them in place and used tape to bridge the gap and started to layer up fiberglass cloth and resin.

Beautiful job. One of the nicest 84+ naked conversions I've seen. But I agree, it looks incomplete without a front fender. Even a small hint of a fender.
