My 78/80 GL1000 project mock up
Avert your eyes! It's an abomination! 1976 Heads, suspension, and final drive, 1978 motor and Comstars, and a 1980 frame and body. The answer to "why," is just because these are the best parts I had left over after building my other two bikes. I'll be tearing it down for a thorough overhaul and then hopefully ride it to "Street Vibrations" bike week in reno. What do you think?

Am I to understand you had no spare radiator and fan? Seems like she is best for really short trips.

Haha! It's just mocked up before an overhaul. I'm putting it together out of parts left over from other builds, and I have all the parts to get it going, I just wanted to see what it's going to look like when it's done.

Re: My 78/80 GL1000 project mock up
I'm using the '78 swingarm and final drive to match the gearing with the motor output.
Oh, and I think I forgot to say that I'm going to use a Volkswagen carb just for the fun and experience of it.
