Yeah, just different enough from typical email to be confusing. You probably can’t change what the “Outbox” and “Sent” folders are called, but “Pending Delivery” and “Delivered” would be a bit clearer.
Probably not the first time you’ve seen that suggestion given the frequency of the topic. Heck, I may have made it a year or two ago.

If anyone has a moment and some electrical knowledge, I would love to get some validation on my diagram that I am about to wire up, perhaps this weekend. Send me a PM and I can send you what I have after work or if I can post it here for general input that works too, you all tell me.

If it's your drawing, go ahead an post away. It's copyrighted content that's the rub and necessitates PMs.

It is a not a setup function and is hard coded into the PHP Bulletin Board program we use to run the forum. Nothing I can do abut it.sgwilly wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 9:40 am Yeah, just different enough from typical email to be confusing. I am certainly not an electrical "Spert" but I do have some formal training and would take a look at it.

Works fine for me the way it is. Easy to play by the rules when you know them..... instead of trying to change the rules because you don't

That's if I can remember them. Which is getting to be more and more difficult with time.

Re: '90 GL1500 Gone Wild
Ok, don't quote me on grounds, this diagram is still a bit of a work in progress and just the first draft. I will get some of my parts in this week but will have to do a layout pre-mount so I can measure lots and cut once.
I am following BobManifold in the bare naked profile, though I am keeping more frame than he did. Some day I may revisit making the reverse functional. I never would have thought to do this nor made it this far if it weren't for trail blazers with the newer model Goldwings like BobManifold and PedroTQ.
For those that are unfamiliar with the Motogadget m.unit it replaces relays and majority of fuses, check out Revival Cycles on YT. It is a huge piece of tech that I am super excited to have because I don't know that I would have the patience yet for figuring out how these relays were all tied in and how I would keep/replace them.
I don't have a cluster/gauges sorted out yet but planning to hook in vehicle speed sensor(VSS), oil pressure switch, fuel reserve sensor, coolant temp and neutral sensor. Not sure what to do with that third line coming off the Alternator yet, I would love to be able to upgrade to a MOSFET Regulator/Rectifier and an Antigravity lithium battery but I am not that savvy with the electrical systems yet. Perhaps a Compu-Fire alternator has the tech for this?
This is pretty much it for all of my electrical systems. Please let me know if I am missing anything vital.
Here I come!

Kill switch? Are you only running a single filament rear bulb?

Re: '90 GL1500 Gone Wild
My guess is he's going to run an LED integrated unit on the tail. I don't know if I'm missing anything because there is a lot in there! Wow! After struggling to get a schematic done of just the rear turn signals in excel, I am impressed in the thoroughness here. What program did you use? (and please don't say excel).

Re: '90 GL1500 Gone Wild
Good morning all,
The m.unit does have a kill switch option but since I am still running OEM style controls, for the time being, I will just have to hit the start button twice to shut it down. The hi beam indicator is, currently, the blue line running off the left side of the display. Now that you mention it, I should probably look closer at some of the wire coloring to help with any future troubleshooting. I am running LEDs for the tail and turn indicators, I haven’t purchased my headlight nor my display gauge(s).
I used Microsoft Visio. It’s great for building network diagrams, floor plans and organizational charts as well as many other functions. I do have an excel chart listing out the ECM, RCU, Reverse Diode Assy, and I was trying to get the relays and fuses in there as well but it was overwhelming for me. I have a little more understanding of how relays function thanks to a guy at work, he is a Marine Corps retired avionics technician that loves to geek out on schematics. He also recommended that I use some RTV to pot the non sealed connectors I reuse in order to give them protection from the elements.
If the picture isn’t displaying the words on the m.unit in center I can provide a link to high res version.
Here is a video that shows how the m.unit works. These guys are out of Austin, TX USA.

Re: '90 GL1500 Gone Wild
I studied your diagram for several minutes and I think I have a basic understanding of it. Also I think I have an idea of your vision for this project...
If I were designing and building an electrical system for my motorcycle, even on a minimalist level, I think I would wire in a voltmeter or an ammeter.
When I sold my GL1000 and bought the 1500 I was glad to have an integrated sidestand switch because it's a great safety feature and because I can kill the motor with it when I park.
The 1500 also has a "Bank Angle Sensor" that kills the motor if you lay it down. Some riders see that as an indispensable safety feature.

Re: '90 GL1500 Gone Wild
That’s a good idea, I will definitely look into integrating both of these, if you have any ideas I would love to hear them, understanding that every build is a little different and mounting locations are more limited in a naked setup. If I can wire it in I will find a spot for it. Thanks!
