Does anyone have any experience with the off-brand "Weber" 40 IDF carbs similar to these
Any & all comments or opinions welcome.
I'm hesitant to go with them, but the pricing is nice.
If any of ya'll know from first-hand experience or have any feelings on if they should or shouldn't be a problem, lemme know.
Thanks!
Merry, Merry & a Happy, Happy!

Re: Twin Weber carbs question
I am certainly no expert on this, but those show a 44 stamped on them...which seems to me to be a bit big for these old girls.
I recently moved, so I can’t say without looking at the carbs I have, (which are Weber 40’s) as to what the specs are.

Those look like the Chinese knock off webers. Most people would say stay away from those. The Webers made in Spain are the most sought after. Then the one's made in Italy. I recently had a set of the Italian made Webers for sale. With manifolds and linkage set up for a GL. But not any more.

Re: Twin Weber carbs question
I have a set of Chinese knockoff set of weber 40s, however rebuilt with genuine rebuild kit and genuine weber internals. No problems. I do know there is a certain offshore manufacturer that are known for having a very porous casting which leads to horrible tuning issues. Its a gamble. The set that I've acquired seems to be alright. But its a roll of the dice.

Re: Twin Weber carbs question
thanks for the info guys!
sorry, robin, I tried... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm thinking about giving them (prolly not these specifically, but the Chinese knockoff style) a try, in the correct size, 40 IDF... with a real rebuild kitt, and then see where it gets me.
I'll let you know.
