Isle of Man (itoulin) Canadian RUN! SEPT 8, 9, 10, 2014

#1

Post by ascot »

After having such a great time at the Eastern rally, I have decided to throw my hat into the ring and try to organize a Canadian rally in 2014. I was thinking that a tour of Manitoulin island would be a great place to start. Manitoulin is the largest fresh water island in the world and has many interesting places to explore. I am hoping to hold this so as not to interfere with any of the "National" rallys. Here is a link to a motorcycle rally held every year on the island and it gives you and idea of what the island is about and how to get there.

http://www.ridemanitoulin.ca

This is just a little "shout-out" to let you all know about our plans and maybe you can put it on your calendar for 2014! Brother Rat has already offered to help (thanks Gord!) and we will be adding to this thread in the near future.

Mr Moderators .. if this conflicts with any plans for the 2014 schedule, please let me know.

Hope to see you "North of the Border" in 2014!!!!

Pete

This looks like something that has caught the imagination of folk, Pete!
When we first spoke about it at the rally I loved the idea; I knew Doug and the Jones boys would leap at it and I will do my level best to be there too.

Awesome ... This really could be an "international" rally! The way I see it, we could do a "meet and greet" on the Monday. Ride one end of the island on Tuesday, the other end Wednesday and disperse on Thursday.
Just as a point of clarification, the link that I included in my first posting has nothing to do with the NGW club rally. It was intended as an informational attachment only. We will make up our own agenda and do our own thing.
Providence Bay seems like a good site for "headquarters" as it has everything that we need. A "mom and pop" motel, a campground and bed and breakfast for those that are so inclined. It also has one of the nicest sand beaches with a great boardwalk.
Still in its infancy, but plans need to be discussed and ideas fielded. Please keep those cards and letters coming.
Pete
