Pretty much a great event. Prefect weather, food, riding and socializing. Great job Pete & Gord.

Re: 2017 NGW Canadian Run, 1000 Islands, September 12, 13 and 14
Home safe late last night. Was on track for a 2p arrival at my home, had to stop for gas one last time before crossing the border. Chose exit 25 on the 402, just outside Sarnia. Rear tire felt flat as I stopped. Pulled into the Esso station and fueled then checked and sure enough the tire was flat. I pumped it up, but air was gushing out. They had no plugs. So I motored slowly down to the Petro Canada station closer to the town of Wyoming. No plug kits but the lady there says the town has a tire store down the road 2 km (this is a tiny town). Wyoming Tire says the tire is trash as sends me to Huron Motorsports, 1 km away in town. Huron Motorsports is strange for a town of 2000 folks, but what the heck. Jeff at Huron has a Dunlop 130 16 so all is looking good. But upon removing the wheel, it is obvious that the left rear wheel bearing is toast. Dry as chalk and balls falling out. He finds the bearing, but cannot remove the bearing retainer. So then he heads to a salvage yard and brings back a 16 inch wheel from an 1100 wing. He trys fitting it to get me back, but it turns out to be bent. So Pepper came and fetched me late last night and we left BADDOG behind. Jeff Maitland thinks he can find the tool to remove the retainer on the salvage rim (mine is now in splinters) and get my Lester going again. Sent him the tips on drilling out the pended over sections a tiny bit this morning. Pepper reminded me that I have never ridden the bike all the way to the boarder on 402 West. I got within 25 km this time, but it was not to be.
Had a great time at the Rally, another excellent Canadian event. Most excellent coordination of all going on. Wise move to break the team into two groups, worked great.

Honest Jeff, there isn't a conspiracy to prevent you from getting back to Michigan !
Sorry I had to bail early on Thursday. This working for a living keeps getting in the way of riding.
Many thanks to Pete, Gord and Mark for their work in puitting this event together. Great people, good riding and a terrific venue. WELL DONE!

Fred,
Sorry to hear about your problems. Hope it gets resolved efficiently and cheaply. I have relatives in London if the bike has to stay somewhere. My mother's garage is empty cause she doesn't drive any more.

Thanks Mark, will keep that in mind but most likely will not be needed this trip. Got to figure out away to get to Sarina without a breakdown. But I am moving forward as no personal injury this time and Pepper did not break a nail.
