Shop closed at 4 and the tire showed up at 3. Couple hours of finagling later, and here's where we sit. As a bonus, I'm trying out my other set of saddlebags. Better made, but harder to open. We'll see how they work.

Still, I should be all set for tomorrow. I'll be the schmuck in the khaki shorts and Gilmore Vintage Weekend hat...

It will be a little cool for shorts in the morning. Really nice today. Sunshine but pretty breezy. Cloudy looking early but cleared up nice. See you Saturday.

I'll be tooling around on this.

It was nice to meet those of you I saw today.
I haven't been to Vintage days for a few years. Last time I went I said I wouldn't go back unless I had an old bike to look for parts for. Now I have an old bike to look for parts for.
It seems to me that there was less of a crowd at the track than I've seen in the past even for Friday. I know there were less vendors in the infield area and it seemed like even though it covers the same ground there was less at the swap meet than years past. I remember back in 2000 or 2001 Honda/Harley/Kawasaki/Yamaha/BMW all had demo rides at VMD. This year it was only KTM and there didn't seem to be many people riding those. In the past you had to be there when the gates opened if you wanted to sign up to ride any new bikes. I've always done the weekend pass until today, I have a family thing tomorrow, so today I bought a 1 day ticket $45.00 seems a bit steep but we had traveled 3 hours to get there. We had a good time but I just remember Vintage Days having more to offer.

I agree. Vintage days ain't what it used to be. Especially the gate prices. Less show,.....more money

Route 60 is a nice ride through that area. I usually that Wv16 from St. Marys WV to Rt 60 and ride that area a couple of times a year. Normally go to Kanawa Falls, Cathedral Falls, Hawks Nest, Babcock S.P. and Fayette Station (under the big bridge) among other places while I'm down there. Makes a nice days ride from here. Hope to take the GL down next spring for one of it's longer shakedown runs.
